Bike I ride: Mountain bike is a Specialized SWorks Stumpy - carbon carbon and a little more carbon. Road bike is a Specialized Tarmac - again carbon carbon and some more carbon
Favorite Trails: If its technical, goes up and down... I love it!
About Me: I've been riding since 1987. At one time I used to race Expert Class XC. I also used to compete in Expert stock and modified trials. But now Im old, dont have as much time to train and just aint that good anymore. So now I mostly spend my time building technical XC trails that require lungs and the ability to climb tight switchbacks.

quotes What people need to realize is trials is definitely a niche segment of the bike world. And with in that niche, there is stock bikes (26"wheels) and modified bikes (20"wheels). Guys buying a Mod trials bike are usually heavily into the competition side on trials. So you won't see Danny on a Mod. Plus Mods dont lend themselves too well to street/dj styles of riding. They're pretty much a comp bike.

quotes Thanks Mike for posting pics of the Monty. I rode trial on and off since the late 80's and actually still have my 1986 Monty T219 in the shed. Its great to see how much the sport is evolving with technology.

quotes Registration will be from 8am to 9:30am. This will allow guys the chance to ride up or shuttle. Shuttles will not be provided. There will be a temperary road closure between 10am and 10:45am. This will allow the racers to make their way through the course and its two lower road crossings. Make sure you are at the start line before 10am to avoid missing the start.

quotes Are you guys for real?!?!? This guys is talking out his ass. What do you think injection molded carbon fiber is? Its nothing new. Its been around for more than 10yrs. Take a look at any carbon linkage plate on Trek, Santa Cruz, ect... The purpose of injection molding and mold making is so that when the finished part is spit out of the machine, its done. Complete and not requiring any more machining processes. Its just plain manufacturing. I'm machinist who has worked in a mold shop. This process being a "greener" process is also crap. If you've ever been around an injection molder you would know that theres nothing "green" about it. Once the machine & shot is set right, they can make a lot of parts labour free. And the crap about that lever layup..... what do you think any other company has been doing since carbon parts have been made.

quotes I can remember years ago watching one of his earlier movies (can remember the name) where Wade is rippin up Centenial Park in Burnaby and comes out of the skate bowl and jumps over a fence 6' or 7' away. Absolutely nothing by todays measuring standard, but back then it absolutely blew my mind. He was jumping off everything in that video. My buddy and I actually got pumped and rode our bikes off the roof of our house trying to emulate that movie. Plus his segment in the video introduced me to Me First and the Gimme Gimme's

quotes I swear the "Discovering the DH side of mountain biking in the early 90's" shot is from the Rubberhead Festival on Red Mountain in Rossland. Great article.
